I still have a lot of learning to do before I even consider buying a guitar but when I do it is going to be one of those two. Probably the first one.

Mmm...Les Paul Specials are pretty nice. The P90 should be a good one for you.

The specials are okay, but they have a bit of a reputation for not being terribly durable. I've played one and it sounded okay, though it didn't feel terribly great. It was used though, and not terribly well looked after. Eh. I'd personally go for something a little more expensive and enduring, but it's an entirely personal choice
