Lol, Pokemon came out when I was in the third grade, so basically through first and second gen, every kid with a Gameboy were playing the games during recess.

It seems like around third gen, it was kind of taboo, and nobody I knew cared about third gen, but then when 4th gen came out, people were back to being in love with the games.

I actually remember when all anyone had were the cards. And I had some kid who tried to cheat my sister out of some cards, lol. Also, people would pay like $500 for a freaking card.

Then, the games came out and no one gave a shit about the cards. I liked gen 1 the most myself. I did play gen 4, I think. Silver? Was that gen 4? I can't remember...

My family was poor when I was a kid, so I never owned a gameboy or anything. I played a little bit of pokemon my senior year on an emulator, but then the game got fucked up and I had to start over so I quit.

And I only ever bought little 10 card booster packs, like 4 of those, but somehow I had about 200 cards. No idea how.

Lol, the games came out before the cards, the games are the basis for the entire franchise.

Silver is gen 2.

I had a couple of micromachines when I grew up. I didn't play any video games, still don't. We played marbles, don't know if anyone knows how it worked...? I was a boss in it! Started with a handful of them and ended up having to ask my grandma to sew me another baggie to hold them in as they got too heavy and many. I even had a couple that was made of iron ore...those were very rear.

It's based off of the games, that's why the show is really shitty.

I definitely thought the cards were first. I actually liked the show as a kid. But then again I pretty much liked every show on tv that wasn't just super boring.

Yeah, it's definitely fun looking at stuff that you liked as a kid and then realizing it wasn't really that great.

Kind of like with video games. I'm pretty sure I would have played the living hell out of Spyro the Dragon as a kid, but playing for the first time when I was 18, it's boring as shit, because all you do is run around collecting jewels, and it takes no effort.

So when you see a kid say a game is bad, it's bad.

It makes sense that the games were first now that I think about it. I always thought it was the cards.
