As mentioned in another thread, the strings are normally tuned in the same fashion as the lower strings of a guitar.  In other words, they are tuned to the (going from low to high) Low E, A, D, and G strings.
It depends on what music you’re playing, is it all in standard, or is it lower, or in an alternate tuning?

True, but knowing the standard before doing strange tunings is much easier.
It’s true that you should learn the basics of the instrument first, but your opening post made it incredibly vague and just said tunings.
General Tuning:

If you want specifics, the low D string 5th fret should sound like the open G string. The 5th fret G string should sound like the 1st fret B string and the fifth fret B string should sound like the open E string.
