You can get the Epiphone version for like $400. If that's too expensive for you, I'm not sure what to tell you.

That isn't expensive for me. I'm willing to spend $700-$800. I'm more or less just trying to get a Gibson (just cause of the classic tone) That matches Matt Talbott's.

You can get pretty close with an Epiphone without breaking the bank. Or stalk Reverb.com for a good deal on a used one.

Ah Thanks! I just checked out some LP's on there, $500 for a nice used one! Appreciate the recommendation.

Tbh unless you have a trained ear, to know what to look for, you normally won’t tell the difference with a blind sound test between a Gibson and an Epiphone. You’d be surprised with guitarists like Noel Gallagher where he used an Epiphone Les Paul on Oasis’ first album, and probably on their second.

True. I'm mainly specifying a Gibson however, only due to the fact that they make the studio models Which for some reason, Sound better to me.

Maybe it’s the lack of binding

But if you hook that sucker ( Or a Fender Prodigy) Up to an Orange CR120 (Because the OR120 makes me cry) with the right pedals, You'll have one of the chunkiest tones I've heard in awhile. I think you can get the same effect with a Gibson Explorer however.
