I'm like 97% sure that's not true. There are three main gods in Hinduism; Vishnu, Shiva and Brahman. All three of them are the creators and destroyers of the universe, but they all play a different fundamental role. At least, that's what I had learned, and I'm not the best source for info on Hinduism so don't quote me on this.

Vishnu did have 9 (and eventually will have a tenth) avatars, one being Krishna, whom is revered by a large portion of Hindus, but I doubt he's considered all the gods, at least by most Hindus.

Hinduism is archetypally henotheistic, which means that you believe in many gods, but you choose the one you like best and worship him/her. A bit like in Catholicism where you believe in many saints but choose a favorite one to pray to (DEFINITELY not in Protestantism).

I didn't think they'd interpret it differently, at least not at the fundamental level Confusedhrug:

But maybe you're right.

Sounds to me like a similar situation to the Christian Trinity Confusedhrug:

I knew that Brahman, for some Hindus, is the "goal" that takes you away from samsara, and that he is considered a creator/destroyer/Absolute.

I still appreciate the hug though :3

I knew I had the concept right, just not the name. I play too much Final Fantasy and think Shiva has ice powers, but she doesn't Sad
Yeah I guess that makes sense. In that there are many gods in one. Hinduism seems rather pantheistic in that sense as well.

EDIT: Shiva's a dude Wink

Damn you Square for lying to me!!!!

It's funny how they're also incorrectly depicting Ifrit and Bahamut since Ifrit is a winged creature and Bahamut is a fish, not a dragon.
Hah I thought Ifrit was a jinn in Islam?

Just looked it up, You are correct, my mistake, I don't know much about Hinduism in fairness, I thought they believed in different gods and goddesses, but it appears they are incarnations of the same god. My bad.

It is, it's just supposed to be a winged creature, not some bipedal lion creature.
I see. Final Fantasy does often alter character concepts from what I've seen hah.
