I'll use a movie as an example. I hated Forrest Gump. Awful, stupid movie. Still don't understand, and probably never will, why it's such a "classic". But hey, that's just my opinion. There's a million people who love that movie and consider it a great work of art.

In other words, if you don't like something, then you don't like something. Everyone is going to have their opinions on everything. Some will like it, some will hate it, some won't care either way. The main thing is that if you have an opinion on something, be it good, bad, or meh, you shouldn't try to shove it in peoples' faces. If they ask what you thought of it, or if you're just discussing it in general, then yeah, by all means, go ahead and voice your opinion. Otherwise, if you like it you do, if you don't you don't. No need to go off ranting or raving about it
Forrest Gump is ridiculous but it's oddly sweet
I do think that presenting a different view can definitely change peoples minds on a subject, but usually thats only if someones like "I hate this thing" and everyone else is like "Well we think its pretty okay."

It depends on how you expand the conversation from that, as my problem, is that most of these types of conversations are mostly the "it's shit" vs "I thought it was awesome" and don't go to any depth than that.

A conversation I had with Sam was over the really popular anime Sword Art Online. I've ranted about how lackluster the show was, as I felt nothing happened in the show, and the romance the show focused on was pretty damn tacky and poorly constructed, and let's not talk about how anti-climactic it was when they beat the game... well the fact that they didn't actually beat the game lol.

Sam on the other hand interpreted the show differently and really enjoyed it. We did come to the consensus that the second half of the show was pretty bad, and we both never finished it.
I guess what I said is not so much true for popular things, but if someone hates something and they think that its cool to hate it, but they find out a lot of people they know like it, they'll be more open to change their mind. Obviously theres no guarantee though.
Fuck bandwagons.

Who's with me?!
Huzzah! FUCK BANDWAGONS!

Why does that sound like a shitty indie band? lol
It probably is
but more importantly what do you all think of Forrest Gump

It had its moments. I don't dislike it, but it's not like my favorite either. I'd never complain if someone put it on (unless we watched it several times that month already). Confusedhrug:
