So I have some ideas for what we could do in the music talk forum. So we could do an album of the week deal, and I have two ideas on how we can do this:
1: We all submit an album, and then we draw numbers to whose album goes first, and then we give it a week for all the participating users to have a chance to listen to it at least once, and then discuss it. Then we'll keep going from there.
2: We all make a list of albums (1 user submits 1 album) then we have to listen to all of them by the end of the week, and then vote for which one is the best of the week. Then discuss why we did and didn't like about the others.
It's not a bad idea at all, but I might have a hard time participating considering I'm incredibly busy with school and most of my work involves playing music. Either way, I have a hard time concentrating with music on anyway.
Still, it's a good idea.
Version 1 might work for you and others who are busy, as you have the week to listen to an album.
Yeah, version 2 seems too large in general.
But yeah, we could try it and see how it goes.
Version 1 also seems better as you have time to listen to it more than once, as I'm sure a lot of people don't pay that much attention to an album the first time they listen to it.
Or maybe that's just me.
Yeah, I don't think I would get a lot out of listening to like 6 new albums in a week. I would inevitably end up liking anything I'd heard before or whatever was most similar to my current tastes. Its an interesting idea though.
I think the first one might work.

This makes the most sense to me. As Danjo said, listening to 6+ albums a week...just not gonna happen.
Okay, so we just need to make a thread and see how many are willing to participate, and figure out the drawing system.
I like the second idea better. I'm definitely down for listening to new music and sharing what I liked about it. Rating taste/albums and putting them into lists just isn't really what I do.
I'm also not really a one and done type of guy when it comes to albums. I'd want to have multiple listens to pick out certain things I really like about it and generally get a good feel for it. I don't think it would be reasonable to do that with so many albums per week.
It'd also be pretty cool if people tried to stray away from really big albums. Not to sound "so obscure" or anything, just to sort of get something more out of it.
