It's interesting when you look at groundbreaking stuff from back in the day (like albums) and notice how a lot of the younger generations don't hold them in such light since they don't feel so groundbreaking for today.
Like looking at Nirvana's Nevermind and Husker Du's Zen Arcade in today's perspective.
what's the last ground breaking album you heard come out lately?
so many people pushing so many boundaries already makes a ground breaking album from then look plain and simple now
i guess i haven't heard much anything like deafhaven's last album, but i'm not a huge fan of the genre.
Idk, I was just reminiscing with bands like My Bloody Valentine were groundbreaking on albums like Loveless, and MBV came out and it sounds like the rest of their work.
It's like "what did you expect?"
Also it's strange from today's point of view how this song was considered groundbreaking in 1985 for having acoustic guitars in a hardcore punk song:

i thought it was pretty good
Trust me, he loves the album, though from what I hear, it's apparently generic according to other post-black metal
damn, i'm so bored. i need something to do outside or some shit.
Damn, I can't think of any recent records I like I'd call groundbreaking.
I guess How To Dress Well might be a bit groundbreaking for R&B? Although I can't say that because I don't really know a single thing about R&B.
Actually yeah can anyone tell me some similar stuff to this if it exists? I'm really loving it
these guys still amaze me, i don't know how or why i like them but each new album is wilder and more abstract than the next
I just found out this song is 10 years old
Holy fuck I was in 8th grade 10 years ago...
