So, apparently, via Microsoft Dreamspark, I'm eligible for tons of free software -- including Windows 7 & 8.
The school webstore admin has to give me a username; but, since it says on the store that most of the products are available to students, that shouldn't be a big deal.
Can't you just use the license key from your own Windows 7 computer on another machine?
Yeah, but the issue is, I've not been able to find a working version of Windows 7 64-bit on the pirate bay or whatever. I mean, technically, if I had a working Windows 7 64-bit dvd or a working ISO, I could install it. But I've downloaded several different ISOs, tested them on empty hard drives (I'm not testing them on my main drive, lol), and all of them get to a certain point in the installation process and cause an error. If I can get what I know is going to be a working version of Windows 7 64-bit, then I'd rather just do that.
hrug:
The ISO's are easy to find, you just need a keygen which are also easy to find.
That's what I used in my old computer.
I've found ISO's; but as I said, none of them install properly. I've also found keygens.
What are they doing wrong? I've always just grabbed a random ISO and install it and run a keygen and /story
ISOs are straight up copies of the original.
I grab an ISO (using BitLord), copy it onto a dvd (using a program called Alcohol 120%, which specifically allows for burning/mounting of ISOs), pull out my main hard drive and replace it with one I've wiped and formatted properly, and then go through the installation process. At some point during the install, the 3 ISOs I used so far give me an error message stating that "Required files are missing".
Lol I've never seen that before. I've always just grabbed the ones with the most seeds and they go smoothly. You could try a different burning speed.
I've tried it with slow, fast, etc. None of them seem to burn correctly.
