If you're looking for Miyazaki-esque movies then watch "The Girl who Leapt Through Time", "Summer Wars" and "Wolf Children" by Mamoru Hosada. Fantastic movies, and the backgrounds are also amazing which add to the movies.
Stay away from 5 Centimeters Per Second unless you really like scenery porn and a romance movie where nothing happens.
Sputnik music gets pretty bad, they allow people to score albums before they're even released and people will leave comments on it. I remember seeing Green Day's Uno on there and thinking "why does this have a rating? It's not even out yet." and reading the comments people leave on it "1.0 because it's Green Day, I don't even have to listen to it to give it a 1.0 rating".
Also the idea of album ratings being based on everyone voting for it, is bad since a vast majority of albums have above a 3.6/5 rating.
sputnik is basically terrible in every way

Cool, thanks. I've been interested in Makoto Shinkai for a while, do you not like him in general or just 5 CPS?
That sounds like my kinda movie anyway :p
I've only seen 5 Centimeters Per Second and was disappointed. The movie's split into three parts. Out of those three parts, only one of them has something happen.
I came out of that movie thinking I forgot something. I was pretty disappointed seeing how this gets raving reviews.
So I decided to check out some recent American Idol videos out of boredom. I looked through the videos of some of the latest performances, and this one in particular stood out to me:
And it turns out she was voted out right after that. Well fuck that show
andddd she lost to this. this chick isn't even trying to show her range:
The verse for the second one was good, then it got to the chorus and I felt disappointed.
yeah that's basically how i felt
the first one was pretty much great all the way through. she missed a couple notes but it was still superior all around
Girl #2 could have put more effort, she was playing too safe by backing down her voice.
in a perfect world the lack of effort would get her voted off
but #2 sang a song that wasn't 40 years old and that helped her quite a bit, i assume
that last note #2 sang should've sealed her as the winner of the competition by itself, honestly :3
