Tbh Demonoid wasn't really that great. I never found that much of what I was looking for on there. I always felt like more people thought it was amazing because it was invite only and felt special for having an account.
Yea, I couldn't find half the music I ever wanted
I only kept visiting there because it had a couple of torrents I couldn't find anywhere else.

I always wanted want of those... >_>
WhatCD seems better than Demonoid, but I've only ever torrented from those open sites that you could potentially get caught on. I rarely torrent anyway since I follow an 'honour code' that only allows me to torrent certain things.
WhatCD focuses on just music torrents, Demonoid is kind of like a subpar Piratebay or Kickass, except with invites.
Though WhatCD seems like a pain in the ass, because you supposedly have to pass an interview, or have an invite code, and you actually have to keep a certain download/seeding ratio, or you'll get banned.
I know a handful of people who had WhatCD accounts and got banned because of that, but many of them never bothered to go back. So it just seems like a lot of hassle for little gain.
You're right, nevermind. I remember people complaining about that now, even looking for new music just to keep their ratio up.
Speaking of pirating stuff, I find it funny how I pirated a game, and then about 2 weeks later I bought it. I always figured piracy was so that you don't have to buy it, but I tend to end up buying everything anyway.
there's some interesting studies done on that actually, look em up the rate of people buying something once it's available for free is oddly high
I'm starting to realise that more people get caught than I previously thought. >_>
I've only torrented maybe ten things (some of which I paid for anyway) and haven't had any trouble so I'm not worried.
Tbh I've never met anyone who's been caught torrenting.
