Yeah I feel you. It interests me, but I haven't been bothered to see any since X-Men 3, so idk how bothered I will be to see this one. I'll probably just watch it round a friends on DVD/their film-streaming service of choice.
It's not bad, but it's mediocre and pretty bland for the most part. I was reading Japan's reaction to the movie, and they were pretty disappointed. It's loosely based off of a very well known historical epic, so they watched it and found out it had little to do with the actual story it was based on. Also a lot of the clothing and a lot of stuff in the movie was more Chinese than Japanese, and the only Japanese aspect were the actors.
Also box office bomb =\= bad movie just saying.

That makes sense. I imagine they were thinking Japan, and the US would be there biggest takes. But, in the US, it did mediocre. And, well...you mentioned Japan's reaction.

No. I know. The majority of those box office bombs occurred because their budget was huge, and they couldn't even break even.
Also Keanu Reeves can't really act.

I liked him in a few films, but those were usually films where the "world" background was rich enough that you didn't care about the 1-dimensional characters. For example: The Matrix.
Yea, it's probably moreso that the movie was expensive as shit to make
On the subject of flops, I think Scott Pilgrim was probably the most undeserved flop of all time
That movie was awesome but it flopped so hard
Also I might be the only person in the universe that thought First Class was kinda meh. And I loved the first two X Men movies.
