I will become a suicide bomber and end my life at one of their shows if they do that.
Too late wolfy, they're already acting like that.

It was nice knowing you.
God dammit. I hate doing this.
I have to agree that 90% of genre Nazi's I know are metal people, but don't stereotype. You get the IMN (immature metal nerds) that usually go and ruin the whole reputation.

Nastyn8, post-hardcore is such a wide genre, that it comprises of anything from Paramore to Like Moths To Flames. I think it's very similar to the Alternative metal/rock genre; it's not so strictly defined.

To get to the brutal stuff, there is nothing better than some brutal hardcore every once in a while just to make you feel like you can take on the world again. I love my new wave hardcore like Obey The Brave, Stick To Your Guns and The Ghost Inside. I saw the latter when they came to SA, we were a total of 17 people at that venue - they are the nicest guys.

Joel, never a fan of Children of Bodon or Cradle of Filth, I'm a deathcore kid but not a wigger. I started listening to it for the lulz and then it kinda grew on me. I think its because everything is tuned down so low and let us be serious now...

Good list, many of my favorite bands here.

Not even gonna be a genre nazi here, but Paramore is nowhere near post-hardcore. If they're labeled as any punk genre, they're more pop-punk since I don't any hardcore style in their music. I would label Taking Back Sunday more post-hardcore (well their first 2 albums)

I agree. They're like Sonic the Hedgehog fans; ruining it for everyone Tongue

Thing is, pretty much the only metal elitists I've met listened practically exclusively to metal.

You mean genre elitists?

There are others out there. I feel like everyone who gives a shit about music is an elitist in middle school, and most of highschool, but then some don't seem to grow out of it. I'll admit I was a Classic Rock elitist until I started listening to the Chili Peppers. (I actually listened to a decent amount of other music, but I thought if you didn't like Classic Rock that you didn't have ears.)

No kidding

Forgot Opeth and Cynic though

I don't think I'm an elitist Sad I listen to a bunch of different kinds of music. I just think it's easier to get into certain music if everything is defined right. Just taking BTBAM, they sound like 2 or 3 different bands over their discography. It's nice to know what band or album to listen to based on other stuff you like Confusedhrug:

And going from what I've seen on UG, the hardcore forum is just as bad as metal when it comes to genre elitism. The other forums are pretty cool with that stuff though.
Cynic's Focus is listed as death metal, but other albums of theirs like Traced in Air are more prog metal or jazz fusion metal or whatever the hell people like to call it

But the lack of Opeth - Blackwater Park in prog metal is criminal
