Lets discuss Anime. For the purpose of this thread, we'll discuss Japanese animation. Anything that has anime inspired art like Avatar and Teen Titans is not anime since it's not from Japan. Sure it sound stupid, but claiming that anime is a separate genre is pretty silly since it's really just cartoons from a specific country.
My favorite anime:
Hyouka
Death Note
Minami-Ke
K-on!
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Bakuman
Acchi Kocchi
Bakemonogatari
Chuunibyou
Oreimo
<insert any Studio Ghibli movie>
Summer Wars
The Girl who Leapt Through Time
.............................I've read Dragonball >.>
I should read that. I kind of liked Dragon Ball over Dragon Ball Z.
I don't remember most of the story though

I don't really either. I remember Dragon Ball Z very well because Toonami would always start showing reruns right after they do a run. First they'll reshow the new run, then they'll start it all the way over.
I wanna start watching BDZ again
So if you're talking to "hardcore" Anime fans, never EVER refer to DBZ characters by their dubbed names. You will be flamed heavily and a straight up n00b
My favorite anime:
Naruto
Death Note
Samurai 7
Soul Eater
Black Butler
Ouran High School Host Club
Studio Ghibli movies
Samurai X (the original movie, I haven't watched Rurouni Kenshin the series yet)
I used to love DBZ but experience with other shows have showed me that it's really only good for nostalgic purposes, because if I were to watch that show for the first time now, it's terribad. Subpar plot (at least past the Frieza saga), practically no character development outside of Trunks, Vegeta, and Gohan, and the fights are inflated in length because have of it is spent with the character charging their attack and screaming bloody gore. All that said I still mostly enjoy watching it for kicks.
