Nah, I've never called it or heard it called a WC.

Nope, not in general use - it's usually toilet, loo, bog, shitter, crapper etc depending on the level of formality and such. I've probably heard WC on TV and whatnot, but not in general conversation.
What's interesting though is that toilet is a slang name. As is lavatory, WC, loo etc. Toilets have never had a formal name - all the names it has/has had have been slang at one point, or still are. JoelCarli Wrote:Well curiosity killed the Maps.

Huh. Is it an older term maybe that people just don't use in common speech anymore? I guess I do hear loo a lot too. Really I can't say I've heard WC a lot, but the few times I've heard it it was associated with English stuff.

I would guess it is an older term that's just faded out of use.
Another fun(ish) fact about toilet language is that a couple of hundred years ago it would have been perfectly polite to say "Excuse me while I take a piss in the shit house" in middle/high class situations. JoelCarli Wrote:Well curiosity killed the Maps.
