They're definitely a polarizing studio, you basically love them or hate them. A lot of their weirdness is based largely on the source material they're adapting from, and "enhance" it with their odd cinematography. Though there are a couple normal ones where they hold back and animate "normally" for the most part like And Yet the Town Moves and Nisekoi.
One thing that does attract a ton of haters is how they're infamous for enhancing the episodes on the home video releases to where there's some drastic changes. There's various reasons, but one reason is because they're also infamous for not completing a couple episodes before they air (well only 90% complete). Though some people blow the incomplete parts out of proportion, and most of them haven't seen the home video versions.
