The only time it really bugs me is when it's like downtown area of a fairly busy town or city. If there's cars going up and down the street constantly during the business hours, then jaywalking across that busy street(s) is just asking to be hit, imho.
Not that I think it'd be ok to hit anyone who jaywalks in that scenario, but it just doesn't seem very smart for them to do that.
In small towns, where there is no busy streets and stuff, then...yeah, jaywalk whenever you want. In residential areas with almost no traffic, same thing. hrug:
