As much as I hate to be the guy who diagnoses something someone has, that sounds like anhedonia (a form of depression). You might want to see a professional.

My weight is becoming am issue, because I am UNDER weight. I've been having trouble getting hungry or eating lately and I've been losing even more weight (I was already very skinny since I eat healthy and I have issues gaining weight). I'm 6' and only 139 pounds :/ I've been losing about a pound a day or so. I know this sounds whiny, but it's going to become a health issue of I don't fix it.

I've been underweight all my life.
Hell I've been in college for two (technically four) years and the Freshman 15 is more like a Freshman 0.5 for me.

I always enjoy when I question a person over something they're doing that either doesn't make sense, or is really dumb. Normally I'll ask what they're doing, then give them an alternate scenario where the same exact thing is happening to point out how it's either stupid or doesn't make sense. They'll either acknowledge that what they're doing is exactly the same and then proceed to tell you that this situation is somehow magically different and is why it's okay or not dumb. I guess they don't want to admit that they're doing something stupid, so they fool themselves into thinking they're fooling us. Or they proceed to go with the "well everybody is jumping off the cliff, so goddammit I'll do it to".
The other way they go about this, is when they go "I don't do that" then proceed to explain they're doing exactly what you called them out on almost verbatim and you're stupid for saying it's the same.

The best ones are when you actually tell them they're wrong and inefficient for doing it their way, and they basically respond with, "NO U".

If I were to quickly (okay, semi-quickly) list five different quips I can hardly stand from the top of my head, it would look a little something like this:
Quote:5. "It is natural, and therefore it is good for you/It is man-made, therefore it is bad for you." Quote:4. "I could never be a vegetarian, I love meat too much." Quote:3. "Don't judge others!" (Under any circumstance!) Quote:2. "Do what makes you happy, always put yourself before others." Quote:1. "Why do I need to learn that? I'm not actually ever gonna use it in my life." (in the context of school) Runners-up: - "Christians hate science/progress" (actually the complete opposite for the most of history) - "The center (in politics/social issues) doesn't exist" (I exist, thank you very much -- I agree with the right on certain things and I agree with the left on others, but I think that the political spectrum as we understand it is obsolete, divisive, restrictive and inaccurate. Also, modern conservatism and modern liberalism alike I find easily verging on the extreme, as can the center) - "I'm in this academic program by choice but I hate 90% of the classes involved" (then why the hell are you here? I immediately think of my friends in music who want to play gigs, but hate solfege, hate musical history, hate theory, hate practicing what they need to practice for school... In fact, I almost take offense to this, because I'm serious about music and I'm in here to be made into a professional musician like the program is intended for, more than just an interpreter (and there's nothing wrong with just being an interpreter)) |
