Green Day - WCPhils - 02-09-2013

Official Green Day thread

They've evolved a lot over the years and encompass a few different genres but I'm putting them here.

I pretty much like everyone of their albums.

To kick of discussion, which one is your favorite?

I would go with American Idiot because it's the one that initially got me really into music.

RE: Green Day - wwf - 02-09-2013

What the absolute fuck

these guys aren't punk

just kidding, dookie's their best album, etc. etc.

RE: Green Day - WCPhils - 02-09-2013

fak you

*runs away crying*

RE: Green Day - Grungie - 02-09-2013

Dammit WWF!!!!!

Tough call on my favorite. It's gonna be either Kerplunk or Insomniac.

My accomplishment is that I bought all three of their albums this year before I listened to them, which is something I rarely do since I started pirating years ago.

RE: Green Day - wwf - 02-09-2013

Dookie was one of the first albums I ever owned, I spun that shit errday.

RE: Green Day - Grungie - 02-09-2013

I started on American Idiot as well, but my dad had Dookie lying around. I wore the hell out of those two albums.

RE: Green Day - WCPhils - 02-09-2013

I would go

American Idiot (got me into music. Plus it's just an awesome listen)

Dookie (nostalgiaaaaaaaa)

Warning (I really like the mellowness of it)

Nimrod or Kerplunk (Can't really choose. Love both)

Insomniac (Has some fantastic tracks. Plus Brain Stew is like the go to song for every 12 year old picks up a guitar for the first time, lol)

Uno/Dos/Tres (would be better as one longer album)

21st Century Breakdown (I really like this album but it's too long. They could cut someout)

1,039 (meh, some good songs, some bad songs.

Shenanigans (meh, meh, meh, meh)

RE: Green Day - Grungie - 02-09-2013

That seems pretty accurate, they really could have compressed Uno, Dos, Tre. Shenanigans is the only one I really can't listen to, and one I refuse to buy. I didn't really like 1039 that much, it's kind of meh. They did write it when they were 17, so I gotta cut some slack, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

RE: Green Day - WCPhils - 02-09-2013

Yea that is young, and like I said 1039 has some good stuff, but it has 19 songs. waaaay to many, lol

And shenanigans is all B-sides I think so it makes sense it's pretty week

RE: Green Day - Grungie - 02-09-2013

Well 1039 is a compilation of their first album with 2 EP's. Though imo there's only 2 or 3 memorable songs, and the rest is forgettable.
