Yeah, its interesting when that happens. Though when you think about it, most bands that everyone has heard of have had a ton of hits. Like the other day on UG when they had the "Greatest 1 hit wonders" thing, but any time someone suggested something people brought up 10 other songs that were also hits.

Well some things they were talking about were bands that had several hits in Europe, but were one hit wonders in the US. Or they don't understand that one hit wonders mean you only had 1 hit, and you can have more than one single.
Like Devo was a prolific band, but Whip It was their only hit single, but they have other songs as well.

When it comes down to it though there aren't very many bands that were widely known for one song but had no other hits.
Like I have no idea who half the people on this list are. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_one...ted_States And the ones I know I mostly know from something else.

Faith No More is one that gets brought up a lot.

So I just discovered Grimes (well, I've listened to a few of her songs before, but now I'm listening to the albums), and I must say, her music is very relaxing, and I like it a lot for it just being my first listen through of her albums.

Not entirely sure why, but last night I spontaneously bought a bass from my dad for $50.
But it's pretty cool because now I can learn and probably tab the bass for songs too. |
