So you don't believe in Scientology?

On a serious note, I have wondered about the stoning thing too, for that matter we don't put sheep's blood on our doorway either.
For Christians, the answer is easy; many Christians believe in supercessionism, which means that they believe the New Testament (in which an adulteress is brought before Jesus, who famously tells his people that "he who is without sin shalt cast the first stone", saving her from a stoning and forgiving her) "supercedes" the Old Testament. In a way, the old law is still considered legit, but it is far better and more practical to follow the new law.

For Jews, on the other hand, it's confusing.

In another example, it might seem normal to believe in relativism, i.e. all religions are equally correct and God doesn't care whether you practice this or that provided you're doing the right thing.

What is the right thing? It's incredibly subjective - like taste in music.
