On a serious note, this does make sense. Dunning-Kroeger and whatnot.
Oh yeah, Buddhism has mythical aspects, but yeah, I'm not sure they'd couple very well.

That's kind of debatable:

It depends on what you consider a God(s)
Oh yeah, forgot about that.

But that sounds like it wouldn't make much sense

Well, I don't know much about Paganism, and I know a fair bit about Buddhism. From what I know, that probably wouldn't mix well. Paganism's theistic, for one thing, but Buddhism's atheistic.

But more importantly, it was so obvious she didn't know much about either and just thought they were 'cool' or 'alternative', or whatever.

Kind of see that, not all Pagans believe in deities but some believe in energies. Or they see what I believe are gods and goddesses as representatives, something within nature.

Pagan is a very broad term, many pantheons and many different ideas and beliefs.
Ah okay. Aren't Pagan deities similar to Norse ones? I might be getting confused here.
Norse is one of the pantheons.
Does anyone have a good site that can give me good religious knowledge without being too complicated or biased? I know nothing, even about Christianity really and want to learn about all these individual religions but wikipedia is terrible at it.
^ Really? I tend to read a LOT of Wikipedia when it comes to religion/philosophy/theology. Best of all, Wikipedia is necessarily unbiased.

Nonetheless, I don't know about any other unbiased and educated websites for that, I'm sorry Sad

The fact that Buddhism is atheistic is arbitrary. Most of them are, but there are branches from within Buddhism that do believe in God or Gods. Heck, there are branches within the extraordinarily vast Hinduism that are nontheistic.

Maybe she was just someone who was inspired by the two religions, like one of those Christian atheists/deists who take Jesus Christ as an important and respectable figure of love and forgiveness, who take him as a role model, as well as take the lessons from within the Bible to heart, but don't believe in Christ's divinity.

I 120% agree with this post. It's not just people; it's opinions period. There could be some generally intelligent people with one uninformed opinion.

Aren't many Pagans pantheists, too? Isn't Gaia the goddess of all nature?
Many different Pagan's believe many different things.

Yes, in the Greek Pantheon. She is the goddess of Earth & Nature.
