I dunno, if I just murdered my room mate right now for no reason I don't think anything good would come out of that. And if you're worried about God, there are the commandments for that. We destroyed almost all of the research that the Nazi's did though, which is probably one of the dumbest things we've ever done. Sure, the tests were really horrible, but they had already happened. Keeping the data would have just meant that no one would have to ever do them again. Now theres a lot of stuff we'll never know.

Right? Its not hard to make superficial friendships over the internet, but deep ones are almost impossible. You just can't really get a good sense of exactly who someone is unless you're right there with them in their day to day life.

We brought God into it, so we're pseudo on topic.

Who knows? Maybe the murder will become a major headline and there's gonna be a huge change in the law that will protect more people. Very far-fetched, but you get the idea.

If it was that simple, I'd adopt Christianity immediately. But there are literally hundreds of thousands of religious denominations out there, let alone religions that tell you to worship ITS god and its god alone.

Personally, I believe it's metaphysically more likely that a creator exists, but I need to stay open-minded to the opposite, but even in the event that one does, that doesn't mean I know his/her/its/their intention/law. Deists often believe that there is no written law but that there is still reward and punishment in the afterlife for practicing what you preach. The Sadducees would believe God exists but that the Fall of Man justifies humans not deserving an afterlife.

True, but you see what I mean Confusedhrug:

I have pushed meeting up in person on several occasions, but she's "not ready". Right now I'm being ultra cautious with her. Nonetheless she is so far the only online online friend I've made that I've considered "real", so to speak, but now things are going to be weird (not that they haven't been for the past 8 months).

Good point, well made Tongue
Yeah. Even meeting in person can be odd though. You still don't get the full scope, because they'll probably behave differently for those couple days or whatever that you're around them. My semi-lady friend and I have gotten closer to normal life stuff, just because I've visited her school while she had class and homework and stuff, and next week she's gonna visit me. Really I'd like to actually live in the same town as her though.
Ugh I just don't know what I'm supposed to do now though. Things are going to be awkward as hell now.
Take it slow, do what feels natural, play it safe. Try to figure out what is still going on.
Thanks for the help.
You're welcome.

Umm... philosophy, and stuff.
So how about that Last Thursdayism??
Oi, shit. Everywhere I look, I see immorality. I can't think of a single thing that I can't "feel" or think isn't immoral in some way.

Seriously, it's freaking me out, as if I flickering between both sides of the fence. That whole "no inherently good, no inherently bad" thing is pounding in the back of my mind.

Also, do you guys think it's disturbing that people enjoy fictionalized violence? Lately I've thought that. I've never enjoyed intense/unrealistic/over-the-top violence (I think I was exposed to it at a too young age and it traumatized me) and when I think about it, I find it disturbing that many people do. However, I do know that, contrary to popular belief, violent videogames and movies actually contribute to less real-world violence (and, oddly enough, pornography reduces the number of rape. I say oddly because rape isn't about pleasure, but rather dominance), but I can't help but think that that is a little disturbing in its own right.
That is an interesting thing to think about.
