Please. That is all.
Here then!
Something keeps fascinating me more and more the longer I say in England. Basically all the Brits on UG or other places online try and make it seem like it's America that's backwards from all of Europe, and then coming here I find out that the UK not only does things very different from the US, but from the rest of Europe as well. "Hey let's use an electrical outlet that's only used in this country, and also let's drive on the other side of the road from other countries, and oh, let's use both metric AND imperial measurements".

Road signs? Miles
Houses? Square footage
Height? Meters
Haha, wow, I had no idea about the metric/imperial thing.
People give America shit for not using metric, but I'll at least give credit for being consistent. Outside of use in science stuff and minor things I can't think of, we at least use Imperial for pretty much everything else. Excluding road signs, at least most things also label the metric conversion on stuff like food or whatnot. UK? It's like random as hell. They'll use square footage in a house, but then they have other things in the house in meters and shit, like for walls and stuff.

At least be consistent.
Hmm, fair point.
One thing I find entertaining to read are GameStop horror stories from customers. Having lived in half the US and going to several stores in each state, I'm not even exaggerating to say I've been to hundreds of them (doesn't help when some places have them around almost every corner, or worse, some malls have two stores inside them, or one in the mall and one across the street). I have yet to have a godawful or even a shitty experience in one.

I tend to take a lot of these customer horror stories with a grain of salt, as they either exaggerate them to make things sound worse than it was, leave out parts of the story and you find that out after some probing, or they're they're just douchy whiny people.

Let's take the low balling for selling them your games. While I'm not gonna kiss Gamestop's ass and say they give you really good prices, but people always mention it's a $60 game. Let's say it retails for $60, and they sell it and get offered $20. They expect to get closer to $60. One thing they never mention is the used price of the game, that is what their offer is getting close to. The used price NEVER gets mentioned in these stories.

Also people will mention that they bought a game for $60, and mention they get offered $5 or less on it. They're either A: full of shit and exaggerating, or B: you find out it's an old game that now sells for $20 brand new and even less used.

Another factor to consider is how many used copies of this game they're trying to sell does GameStop have in stock. Even if it is still a high priced game used, if the store has a ton in stock used, and those aren't selling very well, they either give you shit change for it, or don't even take it in. They want that shelf space for games people actually want to buy. It's not helping their business to buy games nobody is buying. It's kind of sad seeing people think GameStop (or any store that buys used) is obligated to buy from you no matter what. The "it's not my problem" response I see a million times is complete bullshit.

People who live in countries that don't have GameStop probably believe GameStop is analogous to some shady back alley seller, when in reality a large fraction is customers with really high expectations. That's why I could never work retail.
I don't think I've ever come across a Gamestop in Canada. I hardly know the criticism about it (although I have heard it gets a lot of flack).
I know there's a handful in Canada, or at least in the Toronto area. I think they mostly go as EB Games over there.
Really? I could have sworn EB Games was a different thing altogether.
