So my amp shit the bed and need a new one.
I really know nothing about them though and just need something for my bedroom, nothing greater.
Are Line 6's any good? I was looking at this one since it's in my price range.

But I don't know if it's shit or not. I just want an all around decent amp. My old one kinda sucked and anything heavy, (which is what I mostly play lol) sounded muddy as fuck and the distortion sucked.
Most all lower price Line 6's have notoriously muddy distortion iirc (that's pretty much just what I picked up from people making fun of them on UG)
But pretty much anything in that price range will unfortunately. I used a
Peavey Vypyr 15 for a while and it was decent. It had a few good settings on it and quite a few meh ones but I still liked it for the most part. I see it might have been discontinued but I'm sure there's probably a newer model out by now. I really can't say if it's better than that Line Six though because I haven't actually played one.
Nah, avoid Spiders. Vypyr is probably your best bet if you want heavy. How much can you spend?
What you need, is a new a
Oh wait
hmm, guess I'll have to save up some more. Seems like a waste to buy something that will most likely sound no different than the one I had. I'm not expecting anything fantastic. It's just a bedroom amp :p

No sure of an exact price. I can save more (and my brother might throw me some too since he'll use it) if I really like something and just wait longer. Let's say under $600-700 for the sake of discussion. What would you recommend if you have any idea. Like I said, I know next to nothing about amps :p
I mean, I don't play super heavy stuff constantly. Like BTBAM would be the most by far. But just something that can handle some Protest the Hero, Every Time I Die, Fall of Troy, ect. I'm usually just tuned a half step down, but my last amp would just sound awful every time I touched the low E string.
The only reason I was looking at the Line 6s is because I recognized the name and they seemed to have some decent clean and distortion settings
I'm currently satisfied with my Vox Valvetronix amp, but I do recall UG hates them. I will say it's a pretty versatile amp, but I've never actually used the built in distortion on it. All I did was just EQ it to sound good with my Digitech pedal
Do you have a Digitech Distortion peddle? I'= was looking at them too since I know Boss are pretty shit, but wasn't sure of the quality
Nah, I've got the older RP250 multi-effects pedal.

In some ways I wish I didn't start over, but I think it made the community better. Like half of that site was just a me and Inst chat thread, cuz he posted all fucking day.
I kinda like the layout of the old forum, honestly. Wasn't a member long enough to fully appreciate it, lol.
But hey, I got modship in exchange.
