WMP treats different discs as separate albums. Its kinda stupid that way. But i-tunes made like 3 copies of all of my music all in different folders so thats why I stopped using it, haha.
I never had that happen to me with iTunes.
I dunno, mine was dumb. If I had files on my computer and I added them to itunes, sometimes it would copy them to an itunes folder and sometimes it left them in the original folder. And then when I tried to organize it itunes couldn't find any of the files to play and it wanted me to locate each song of 38 gigs of music one song at a time by hand. It rapidly became a cluster fuck. My music is still jumbled, yet another reason I like physical copies, because I don't have to worry about my computer being stupid and losing something.
I never bothered to have it relocate things into the iTunes folder. I keep most of my shit fairly organized.
I don't think I ever did it on purpose, it just kinda did it sometimes, and other times it didn't. My music is still pretty disorganized sadly.
It's one of those things that takes initial effort, and then it makes things easier in the long run.
Yeah, well it got really messed up when I transferred everything to this computer from my parents desktop, and then every time I get new music from people it gets a little worse. I could go through and fix it all, but I don't really want to lose all my play data that I just discovered I actually had. Also when I moved everything and tried to make sure I didn't have any duplicates I ended up losing a fair bit of music.
One of these days I might fix it...
My iTunes is organized and so is my Google Play Music account. It's nice being able to stream my entire library on my phone and tablet. Definitely a great idea.
I no has tablet, and my phone is a dumb-phone. I mostly listen to music on youtube or spotify really, so I guess the state of the music on my computer isn't super important unless I'm away from the internet.
Speaking of dumb phones, a lot of smart phone hate I see is from people rebelling against it because they see teenagers use them, not because of their functionality.
"Omg I never want a smart phone because I see people post on Facebook from there, never ever getting one!" Rebel 5ever
