Actually statswise I wouldn't be surprised if Antarctica was technically the safest place on earth. I doubt very many people die there each year. Though it does have a questionable population size.
I once got into an argument with my highschool physics teacher about whether of not Antarctica has a popyulation. People live there, bu t they aren't permanent and they don't have like a government.
That's true but I was mostly referring to the harsh weather conditions
Well yeah, thats the funny thing about statistical danger. It doesn't necessarily correlate with real danger. For instance roads that people perceive as crazy dangerous will often have less accidents just because people drive more carefully on them. So safety actually makes things more dangerous.
A point someone once made about driving safety is that if every car was outfitted with a sword that was pointed right at your throat while you were driving, everyone would drive 5mph and no one would ever get in an accident. (I can't remember if that was in reader's digest or popular science... lets say popular science because it sounds clever.)
Or use collective transport, thus helping the environment. :3
