It's one of my favorite manga, I was a bit disappointed they canceled the dub and DVD release at episode 7 due to poor sales. Someone else picked it up, so hopefully I can own the DVD's as well as the manga.
I think the story is really good, and you can definitely appreciate Takeshi Obata's awesome artwork.
Just bought my first Square Enix manga, only slightly disappointed the logo isn't anywhere in the book, and is only mentioned in the copyright on the back.
/sigh
lol, Why did you expect the logo to be on the front?
Well I was expecting it on the back or on the spine. I was expecting it to be like Shonen Jump's localizations where their name is mentioned on the covers and spine. Sadly it's only the localization company's logo.
Usually you see their logo on either the spine or the back:
I'm assuming SC means Square Comics, and it does take up less space. Square Enix is also in the name of their manga website and you buy the volumes off the Square Enix E-store
I'm sort of curious why they haven't bothered having their own localization market, or pull a Shueisha and plaster Shonen Jump logos on all their material. It's not like Square Enix is an unknown company in the US. I'm pretty sure it would help, or get noticed a lot more if they put their logo on their US manga releases.
Eh, it's whatever. More in my collection. In a couple of weeks I'm getting two more volumes of Railgun, it's gonna be awesome.
I never could get into manga. For some reason, the animes always appealed to me more.
Strangely, I don't mind webcomics, and some of those are almost (not quite, though) anime-like.
Action ones or ones that's a lot of dialog are good to read. Though I do know some slice of life comedies that aren't a gag series are pretty bland to read. Minami-Ke is a hilarious anime, but the manga is a snoozefest, I'm questioning how it got popular for an anime in the beginning, especially when they took a lot of liberties in the anime, and you find out the best scenes are anime original.
Like this infamous scene:
BAD END
Wtf?!...What a weird game...
Lol, it's a game based off of the show within the show that family's always watching. It's a parody of those shitty romance dramas, and all you hear is them yelling each other's names dramatically
SENSEI!!!!
NINOMIYA-KUN!!!!
Then something bad happens to them.
Tbh the parody show isn't that much of an exaggeration.
