Well Death Note is a detective psychological thriller where the roles are reversed, where the antagonist assumes the position of the protagonist and vice versa, and the two of them are geniuses trying to outsmart each other, they make it so you don't know who's going to win until it happens.
Bakuman on the other hand, you pretty much know how it's going to end just from reading the first chapter, and that's pretty much all they build towards, and a lot of the main parts of the story aren't really spoilers, as you know they're going to make it into Shonen Jump, and you know they're going to get an anime, it just matters when.
So in comparison, Bakuman is pretty much a lot more predictable than Death Note. Though I do like that it starts to introduce a large cast, and most of the other characters they meet do have their own stories going on, so while it does follow Mashiro and Takagi making it, they do start focusing on the other manga artists they meet in Shonen Jump.
