I'm still waiting for the hype to cool down, so I can go in more neutral or open minded about it. Usually with really hyped up stuff, I come in with the mindset of it being super awesome like everyone doesn't shut up about, so if it's alright or meh, then I'll get even more disappointed. This doesn't really happen with stuff that's usually regarded as good, but I don't really enjoy it. Probably has to do with how people don't shut up about really hyped up shit vs something that's just regarded as good.
I went in to it with a narrow mind. I do not usually like the mainstream type anime or action anime so I was not expecting much from it. It is now in my top three favorite anime.
Have you been spoiled on the story?
I haven't been spoiled yet, but most of what I see is.
OMFG ATTACK ON TITAN
WATCH IT

It's like, seriously, fuck off people.
I am probably one of those people harrassing you to watch it... Whoops.
The Bakuman manga is getting really good. I went ahead and kept reading the manga because I was to lazy to watch the anime to the point I was at...
What chapter are you on? You're probably still in the first season which, knowing you, would finish it by tomorrow if you start now, unless you're really far in the manga.
Chapter twenty.
The web has been distracting me from anime. I am only on, like, episode nine of A Certain Magical Index.
I checked, that's close to the end of season 1, that went a lot farther than I thought. Usually chapter 20 is like episode 10. It shows they either took their time, or there's that much going on.
It's chapter 27 now. It is really good. I am glad I started reading it.
It got a lot of backlash as people were expecting Death Note 2.0 (let's also include Death Note's backlash), as the story isn't exactly deep and it's pretty straightforward. It's two guys trying to make it big in Shonen Jump and make an anime, and doesn't really strive for more than that. The only other aspect they use in the series is the author and the artist's ideologies on how the shonen manga industry should work. Though I personally don't see anything wrong with that, as I think you can still make a good series without making it all "deep and speshul".
I do like how the anime expands on everything without adding too much.
I have never read Death Note so I can't really comment on.
The anime keeps you interested because you keep wanting to know hiw their NAMES and manuscripts will fare. And their are two pretty good ro,ance stories going on too. If anything I wish they would elaborate on them, but they go in enough detail to keep me satisfied.
