That's certainly fair. I guess part of why that episode was a "personal wtf moment" was because it was basically my 1st time seeing the show.
hrug:
I may check Cowboy Bebop out soon...
As I said I liked Samurai Champloo better, from the same creator and some voice actors and stuff.
I got interested in this series called A Certain Magical Index, while I haven't seen the main show, I've seen the first part of the side story called A Certain Scientific Railgun and the way they progress the story is kind of interesting.
It's mostly episodic, but as the show progresses and a story actually appears, you realize that some of the seemingly one shot stories all come into play in the big picture. Despite that, there's still some random pointless episodes.
Can anyone recommend me any Fantasy (a la "Attack on Titan") or Sci-Fi (a la "Ghost in the Shell" or "Guilty Crown") animes? Preferably with a long-ish plot, but not as long as Bleach. I like some shows that are only 25 or so episodes, but they always end too soon, lol. Something with a bit of action, "saving the world" (but not totally in your face repeated cliche, like DBZ) would be great.
Idk, I did mentioned Accel World a bit ago. The same guy wrote this other show called Sword Art Online, but that's one of those polarizing shows where you'll either come out of it thinking it's fucking amazing, or really half-assed or terrible. The middleground is a minority.
I'm looking into Accel World. I'll check out Sword Art Online; the premise seems to make wonder if it's any good though.
Of which? Sword Art Online? I sort of liked the premise of it, and you'll probably be drawn in by the first two episodes (and the amazing OP), but it's kind of slow paced.
I think what killed SAO was that they tried to compress too many chapters into 25 episodes, and it's sort of obvious. They should have dragged it out, making it twice as long. But I never read the source material, so I can't tell if it's originally badly written, or just suffers from being an adaption of a light novel series.
Didn't stop it from being last year's most popular show.
Sounds interesting enough to warrant watch a few episodes.
Anyone have any thoughts on "Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar" or "Steins Gate"?
I don't really watch that kind of stuff (I mostly watch comedies), so I can't comment on those. But I can probably guess Tenchi Muyo's gonna have a lot of fanservice since it's a harem show.
Fair enough. But I think you got me hooked on Accel World. Those feels...
