Well I don't know about over there, but tick bits here are generally associated with Lime's disease, so they have pretty heavy consequences, but it's pretty rare to get bitten.
That's why you guys are called Limeys Tongue

Anyways, you can still get Lyme Disease here, but I don't really hear about it that often.
I figured you do get Lyme's, and I don't really know how common it is here, but tick bites tend to be associated with it, whether it's common or not.
Around here they're mostly in pine trees, and my yard doesn't have any, so we're not dealing with ticks.
Yeah, you can get lime disease but I have had literally hundreds of tick bites before and have never once caught lime disease. Plus, lime disease is more common once the tick has feed for longer and has engorged but I caught mine not to long after it bit.
So, I think my cell phone fucking died. And, of course...I need a phone while I'm job hunting, because I have my cell number listed in the sig of all my professional emails. Ugh. I don't know why the damn shitty phone had to die now.

Keypad has no response. And it doesn't even respond when I plug it in to charge. (A "now charging" message should pop up, when I plug my phone into the outlet, even if the phone is powered down.)

Now...I have to scramble to get a new phone ASAP. How fuckin' fun!

/sigh
Sounds like a blast, hopefully you can keep the same number.
I hope so too. (Iirc, they can just transfer the data on the SIM-card.) I mean, the phone is 5 years old. But still...wtf, phone?!
I wasn't sure if you had a phone with a SIM card, cuz some carriers don't have them. So then yeah, you can just pop the card into another phone and keep the same number.

My dad used to work for AT&T and all we did was just switch cards around until we got iPhones, and of course Apple has to have proprietary SIM cards, but our numbers are still the same.
We've always had Verizon, and they've just transferred my dad's SIM card data. (This was 2 weeks ago, almost.) He had the flip-phone that was basically an updated version of mine. So, they transferred his data from a shitty flip-phone to a new Galaxy S5 smartphone. He kept his number and contacts. I imagine they should be able to transfer my data too.

I'm just kind of annoyed that my phone is dead. lol.

Oh, well...
